The Origin Platform
Origin's core functions help companies ensure that their supply chain partners meet their social, environmental and legal obligations. The platform provides tools for managing audits and risk assessments and monitoring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Suppliers are added to the platform in different ways including via direct registration (requesting access), integration with existing systems, or by using direct imports from Excel worksheets.
Suppliers are profiled based on factors including location, materials supplied, response to assessments, requests for information and third-party information sources that together are used to assess performance.
Policies, certifications and manuals are centrally managed and monitored, enabling teams to quickly identify when suppliers have read and signed policies and when they have not. Suppliers are requested to provide certifications based on attributes, including processes, materials, products, or services supplied.
Origin enables profiling of upstream indirect suppliers. Direct suppliers are prompted to disclose their supply chains, either retaining responsibility for adding lower-tier information or delegating the information to their suppliers.
Automated risk ratings are configured to be assigned to suppliers based on multiple parameters originated from profile information, additional risk pillars and third-party.

Administration user groups are configured to give various levels of access, views, and available actions.
Real-time administrator dashboards inform teams of open tasks and supplier activity such as the completion of an assessment and any new non-compliance issues that have been disclosed.
Reporting dashboards provide real-time performance reports and surface key metrics such as breakdown of supplier numbers by parameter including risk, type, location, activity, and assessment response times. Supplier grids are filterable according to multiple parameters enabling administrators to find information quickly; all list views are exportable as excel files.
The assessment centre provides teams with tools to generate self-assessments, manage policies and send requests for information. Questions can be configured with a RAG rating system alerting administrators to specific responses.
An integrated email notification tool enables administrators to curate branded emails and send them to supplier groups based on multiple parameters, e.g., supplier type, process, country, status etc.
Notifications are triggered using system rules which nudge suppliers when actions are required, e.g., signing policies, completing profile details, or responding to a request for information.
Location views are provided using the Google Maps API to render a global overview of suppliers and a means of displaying the origin/transit of materials and risk.
The administration application and supplier dashboards and assessments can run off the same database in different language variations. Translation service APIs can be used to automatically generate language versions although we recommend using translation agencies to ensure the interpretations are accurate due to the technical nature of some content.
Manage and share assessment reviews with individual suppliers. A corrective action plan creates a two-way communication where administrators can post messages and suppliers can respond within the platform and include evidence such as documentation or imagery. A workflow function is used to manage updates and track progress with supplier dashboards highlighting risks requiring attention.
The importance of seamless integration with other systems and platforms is a cornerstone of Origins architecture. We use a variety of methods to push and pull data from 3rd party platforms. Suppliers are kept notified whenever there is a requirement for information to be shared through the integrated email communications engine as well as through notifications display on the suppliers’ dashboards. Team members collaborate with suppliers through an improvement plans module to share remediation plans and receive updates from their suppliers.
Supplier dashboards include a resources centre providing access to help, technical and performance standards documentation. Information is structured based on the supplier type surfacing information that is relevant to them. The resource centre provides suppliers with practical help via easy-to-access document files and the option to include embedded how-to videos.
Origin offers a comprehensive reporting and analytics solution that includes real-time dashboards and configurable reports. The dashboards provide an overview of open tasks and supplier activity, such as required certifications, completion of assessments or audits, and changes to supplier status or risk ratings. The data grid views in Origin are sortable, filterable, and exportable in spreadsheet format, enabling teams to analyse and manipulate data as needed.
